This is a collection of old fly patterns for your viewing pleasure.
This group of fly patterns are the original 1940's - 50's era Trylon flies tied in Japan, I am guessing on the age. I found a set like this in my Grandpa's old tackle box, but they were well used and tore up. 24 Flies in all.
In the summer of 2006 I started a swap to reproduce all the flies using modern materials. You can see sometimes the flies made where complete replica's and others where changed. Instead of hackle for the tail I substituted with bucktail, instead of duck quills I used squirrel tail or another material. But the idea was to maintain the idea, the look and feel of the fly, see how you think we did.
This was quite a dedicated group of fly swappers to tie 6 of several patterns and make this thing happen, my hat is off to all of them!
